Don's Dwarf is a compact form of our native wax myrtle, an evergreen that fills out to five or six feet with aromatic, olive-green foliage you can smell when you brush past. It makes a soft, natural screen without the constant shearing a formal hedge demands.
It's remarkably unfussy about site: sun or part shade, wet spots or dry ones, sand or clay. Birds shelter in the dense branching. Plant it along a fence line, around a patio, or anywhere you want year-round green with a Southern accent.
