About this plant
Little Lime is the dwarf version of the Limelight panicle hydrangea, packing the same soft green summer blooms onto a shrub just 3 to 5 feet tall and wide. The flower heads open celadon green, age toward pink and burgundy in fall, and dry nicely on or off the plant.
Unlike the blue mopheads, panicle hydrangeas take real sun; here, morning sun with light afternoon shade is a comfortable spot. It blooms on new wood, so cut it back by about a third in late winter and you will never lose a season of flowers to pruning or a cold snap.
