Autumn Sangria is one of the faster-growing Encore azaleas, building to a rounded shrub 4 feet or more and loading up with large, bright pink single blooms. Like all Encores it flowers in spring, rests briefly, then blooms again through summer and fall.

Give it morning sun or filtered light with some afternoon shade in Birmingham heat, acidic well-drained soil, and a layer of mulch over its shallow roots. Water regularly the first year. Prune only after the spring bloom so you don't cut off the later rounds of flowers.
