The rosy maidenhair fern pushes out new fronds in a soft rosy-pink that slowly matures to green, so the plant carries two colors at once for much of the year. The fan-shaped leaflets on dark, wiry stems have a fine, lacy texture.

Indoors it wants bright, indirect light, evenly moist soil, and real humidity; a terrarium, bathroom window, or pebble tray keeps the fronds from crisping. Keep it out of direct sun. Given steady moisture it stays full and keeps producing that pink new growth.
