Bicolor blooms—deep purple petals with white edges—open steadily from February through spring, neat and full on compact mounding plants. The spicy clove scent is a bonus that many modern varieties have lost.

Set them out in early spring in full sun and lean, fast-draining soil; they'll flower without fussing through the season's cool months. Space them 10 inches apart for a tidy show in beds or along edgings.
