When the heat peaks in late August and September, this marigold keeps going without complaint. Durango yellows are sturdy and prolific, bred to handle the dog days and still deliver color on compact, bushy plants.

Needs sun and ordinary soil with decent drainage. Deadheading extends bloom, but skip it and these still fill a border or container. Excellent choice if you're replanting after summer weariness.
