Indian Summer is a black-eyed Susan with unusually large flowers, golden-yellow daisies up to six inches across with dark chocolate centers, on stems three to four feet tall. It blooms from early summer well into fall and makes an easy, generous cut flower.

Plant it in full sun; it handles Birmingham heat, clay, and dry stretches once its roots are down. Deadhead to keep flowers coming, and expect bees, butterflies, and later goldfinches picking at the seed heads.
