Philodendron cordatum is a heartleaf philodendron, a trailing vine of soft, heart-shaped green leaves that pours over the edge of a shelf or hanging basket. It is a forgiving houseplant that grows quickly and roots readily from cuttings, so one plant soon becomes several.

It accepts low light but grows fuller in bright, indirect light. Water when the top inch or two of soil dries, use a well-draining mix, and keep it away from cold drafts. Pinch back long vines now and then to keep the plant dense and full.
