Philodendron goeldii, now classified as Thaumatophyllum spruceanum, holds long, glossy, finger-like leaflets in a spiral around each leaf stem, so every leaf opens like a green pinwheel. As the plant matures the effect grows fuller and more architectural, unusual even among philodendrons.

Care is standard aroid fare: bright, indirect light, a chunky well-draining mix, and water when the top inch or two of soil has dried. It appreciates humidity but tolerates normal rooms. Keep it out of direct sun and cold drafts, and feed lightly through the growing season.
