Casa Blanca is the white Oriental lily florists build wedding work around: enormous, pure white blooms with a rich fragrance, opening in mid to late summer on stems three to four feet tall. A small clump scents a whole corner of the garden at dusk.

Plant it where the tops get sun but the roots stay cool and shaded, in well-drained soil; bulbs rot in soggy ground. Stake tall stems before bloom, and cut a few for the house. Let foliage yellow naturally to feed next year's show.
