Eternal Flame is a foliage heuchera: ruffled leaves that hold their color right through the year, deepening as the weather turns cold, so the plant reads as color in a shade border even with nothing in bloom.

Plant it in part shade — full afternoon sun here scorches the leaf edges — in soil that drains freely. Keep the crown at soil level and plant where water runs off rather than sits. A front-of-border plant for shade, and reliable in a container.
