White Feather is the novelty hosta that emerges nearly pure white in spring, the young leaves unfurling like pale feathers before green streaking develops and the foliage settles toward soft green in summer. It forms a modest mound around a foot tall, with lavender flowers on short scapes.
Because those white leaves carry little chlorophyll, it needs gentler conditions than most hostas: bright shade with no hot sun, rich soil, and steady moisture while the spring foliage does its work. Plant it along a shaded path or in a container where the spring show is up close.
