Pugster Amethyst is a truly dwarf butterfly bush, staying around two feet tall and wide, yet it carries full-size clusters of amethyst-purple flowers on thick, sturdy stems from early summer to frost. The fragrant blooms keep butterflies, bees, and hummingbirds on it all season.

Give it full sun and well-drained soil; the stout stems also help it come through winter better than older dwarf types. Cut it back in late spring once new growth shows, and deadhead if you like, though it reblooms without fuss.
