About this plant
Daisy Mae is a kalimeris, sometimes called Japanese aster, that produces small, cheerful daisies nonstop from early summer into fall, in soft white to pale lavender-pink. It forms a bushy, knee-high mound that stays covered in flowers through the stretch when many perennials take an August break.
It is an easy doer: full sun to part sun, average soil, tolerant of both drought and clay once established. No deadheading is required, though a midseason trim keeps it compact. Butterflies visit steadily, and it knits bolder perennials together in a border.
