Little Moonshine is a compact yarrow with silvery, ferny foliage and flat clusters of bright canary-yellow flowers held below knee height. It carries the color of the classic Moonshine on a plant sized for the front of the border, and bees and butterflies work it all summer.

Full sun and well-drained soil are the whole recipe; it handles heat and dry spells once established, and deer and rabbits pass it by. Deadhead the spent clusters to keep fresh flowers coming into late summer, and divide clumps every few years.
